Getting the Word Out

The Guam EHDI Project was established in 2002 to facilitate universal newborn hearing screening and tracking and surveillance and monitoring of all infants born on Guam from initial screening and identification until enrollment into early intervention. A key component of this process is the facilitation of public awareness of the importance of early identification of hearing loss. This poster provides a listing of public awareness materials in various media formats including print, video, social media, and web-based and translated versions in the primary languages spoken in Guam which include English, Chamorro, Tagalog, Chuukese, Pohnpeian, and Korean. Also noted are the various approaches utilized to produce each produce and disseminate this information to the target audience.

  • Participants will become familiar with basic design of products to promote public awareness.
  • Participants will be provided with a general workflow process to produce final products, from a general idea to the final product.
  • Participants will become familiar with strategies to disseminate Program information.
