Arizona EHDI and Part C Data Sharing collaboration
Arizona's Newborn Screening and Part C programs have been working together over the past several years on creating a data sharing agreement to share early intervention enrollment data on children who are D/HH. Using technical assistance provided by PTAC and the DaSY Center, Arizona successfully completed a data sharing agreement that allow the programs to evaluate referral and IFSP data. Having accurate, real time data on referral and IFSP dates will allow the programs to provide appropriate technical assistance to both referral sources and EI providers to ensure timely enrollment and appropriate service provision for infants and toddlers who are identified as D/HH. The Arizona data sharing agreement development process will be shared with participants as well as lessons learned and guidance on how to get started in your state. Arizona will also share the process of how CDC grant funding was used to provide support in "linking" data from the EHDI system (Hi-Track) to the Part C data System (I-Teams) and how a manual process moved to an automated process for real time data exchange.

Fran is the Case Management Coordinator at the Arizona Department of Health Services, Office of Newborn Screening. She provides administrative oversight to the follow up team for hearing (EHDI), dried bloodspot and long term follow up. Prior to becoming the Coordinator in November 2014, Fran spent the prior 2 1/2 years as the High Risk Coordinator/Project Specialist for hearing follow up. Fran has a Bachelor of Social Work degree. Before joining the Newborn Screening Program nearly 12 years ago, Fran spent 18 years as a social worker in the early intervention (Part C) field.
