Abstract: |
This parent panel will share their experiences navigating the EHDI system in their respective communities. Parents from different backgrounds and experiences will explain the various ways they have taken advantage of key local, state and national EHDI and related resources in raising their deaf or hard of hearing children to become fully successful and independent. Panelists will describe the benefits as well as challenges they faced obtaining support and services for their children and families. The panelists will also share what their families have learned from their experiences with EHDI professionals, other families with deaf and hard of hearing children, deaf adults, and other resources. Participants will take away tips for families and advice for professionals. |
