Abstract:

With nearly a quarter of a million births annually, New York State faces a formidable challenge in developing a real time online information system to capture pertinent EHDI data. The online system is being deployed within a larger context of child health information integration in order to promote the importance of hearing loss within the medical home and provides primary care providers with “one-stop shopping” to individual data on the babies and children they serve. It is expected that having ready access to screening information will result is a significant decrease in loss to follow up. This system also provides opportunities for epidemiological research. This session will describe the efforts and progress that have been made in the creation and operation of this integrated information system.
