Abstract: |
The challenges of building knowledge and skills in the community of service providers who are charged with working with families of children with hearing loss are many. Updating knowledge bases and skill sets, mentoring novice professionals and reaching out to rural communities are just a few of the challenges that face program administrators on an ongoing basis. This presentation will describe how one professional education program has maintained a vibrant 'community of practice' that works to sustain participants when they return to the workplace to 'situate' their new knowledge and skills. |
