Abstract: |
Dr. Szarkowski will address the potential impact of hearing loss on psychological and behavioral development in young children. Having a hearing loss can influence parent-child attachment and childrens' behavioral regulation as well as their understanding of the world. This presentation will aid professionals in comprehending the psychological and developmental correlates of hearing loss that are likely to impact the children with whom they work. This talk will also focus on identifying ways in which professionals and caregivers can help those children thrive.
