Abstract: |
With an increasing emphasis on 'how the DHH children can learn and grow and be wholesome' beyond the EHDI, we dream that all Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children have the opportunities to be together, learn from each other and grow together. In this specific presentation, the Deaf/Hearing team will describe their vision of empowering the young children in expressing themselves through music, skits, and poetry via American Sign Language. What's unique about these children is that they are very diverse in their hearing levels, educational background, family dynamics/home lives, and communication/language use. The participants will view video clips and actual stories of the 'learning processes' within each of the students as they become ambassadors in bringing diverse people closer together. It's a form of 'presentainment' you will enjoy. |
