The Early Hearing Detection & Intervention - Pediatric Audiology Links to Services (EHDI-PALS) Program updates and Enhancements
EHDI-PALS is a web-based searchable national directory designed to assist families, healthcare professionals and state public health organizations identify pediatric audiology expertise in their communities for children ages birth to five. The website provides information and resources on childhood hearing loss to support families and professionals through the process of diagnosis and intervention. Integrated into the portal is a backend framework of built in tools designed to provide the EHDI Coordinator with accessibility to state specific audiology facility details, reporting statistics and search data.
Since NCHAM has taken the lead in 2019 there have been a number of updates and enhancements to improve the integrity of the pediatric audiology facility listings and to maximize the functionality of the backend tools for EHDI Coordinators. An expansion of the existing family support and resource information is currently underway.
This presentation will provide an overview of the new facility management program tools, a review of updated facility survey outcome data demonstrating the benefit of working collaboratively with state EHDI Coordinators, Family Resource updates and plans for future enhancements to the program.

Randi consults on a variety of EHDI related projects with the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM). She maintains her role as program manager for NCHAM’s Newborn Hearing Screening Training Curriculum (NHSTC), the EHDI-PALS Directory and the Newborn Hearing Screening Virtual Site Visit (VSV) Program. She has co-authored several research articles involving newborn and early childhood screening.
From 1998– 2015 she maintained the role of consulting audiologist for The EAR Foundation of Arizona and Arizona's EHDI Program which included the implementation of newborn hearing and early childhood screening programs. The emphasis of her work included program quality, systems development, and best practices. During that time she served on NCHAM’s Technical Assistance Network, assisting states in Region X with their EHDI program development efforts.
From 2015-2018 she served as Hearing Screening Program Manager at Audiology Systems.
Randi holds doctorate of audiology, is state licensed in Arizona and a member of AAA and ASHA. She serves as co-director of the Arizona Special Olympics Healthy Hearing Program.

Daniel Ladner

Daniel Ladner is a software developer on HI*TRACK 4 and IT systems administrator at the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management at Utah State University since 2003. Daniel’s fascination with all aspects of computers and technology inspires him to enthusiastically research the ever-expanding edge of computer technology. Supporting NCHAM’s EHDI efforts, including the development of HI*TRACK EHDI tracking and follow-up software, for the last seven years has been challenging and fulfilling work.

Vicki Hunting

Vicki Hunting is mom to two adult daughters; the youngest a young adult who is deaf/hard of hearing. She has worked in project management, process reengineering and quality/process improvement and evaluation for over 20 years with experience. Ms. Hunting has experience using the Model for Improvement using Plan-Do-Study-Act(PDSA) cycles as a framework for QI projects. This experience also includes; testing, implementing and spreading changes as well as using data for improvement, and developing and interpreting run charts and control charts. In her current staff position as Director of Data and Evaluation at Hands & Voices Headquarters Ms. Hunting works to ensure data and evaluation functions and practices of the organization are developed and monitored, works on establishing efficient, accurate, and timely data tracking to ensure data quality, integrity, reliability and validity. Vicki has been involved in the H&V in Iowa since it began in 2004.
