Abstract: |
Over the past 3 years, representatives from The EAR Foundation of Arizona (EFAZ), Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona and the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management at Utah State University (NCHAM), developed a competency based, multi-media training curriculum to meet hospitals training needs. The goal was to provide a consistent and comprehensive training solution to help hospitals achieve an improved standard of care to babies and families through efficient screening practices. A draft version was piloted and evaluated in 10 EHDI state programs, feedback was incorporated and the final version of the curriculum was released in August 2008. This session will provide an overview of the finished product and demonstrate how it is used. Additionally, in consideration of future versions, participants will be asked to provide insights and to contribute feedback on strengths and weaknesses. |
