This presentation will introduce the newly published Guiding Values and 10 FCEI-DHH Principles. Participants will learn from a member of the FCEI Writing Team about the recently updated FCEI-DHH documents that can help to guide EI. The presentation will highlight important improvements from the previous FCEI best practice document (Moeller et al., 2013). Topics will include opportunities for families to engage in FCEI, expectations for EI Providers in providing high quality supports, and responsibilities of EI/FCEI programs/services and systems in meeting in provision of evidence-informed intervention.

  • Summarize, on own words/signs, the 5 Guiding Values that inform FCEI-DHH
  • Describe at least two of the four Support Principles
  • Identify a minimum of three recommendations for the Structure Principles to support FCEI-DHH implementation from the relevant column (EI Provider, Family, Program)
