You Are The Perfect Parent

Many families flounder when faced with the prospect of parenting a D/HH child. The vast majority are hearing parents who have little or no experience with D/HH people and Deaf culture. What parents do not realize is that they have all of the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful, they simply have to know what those skills are and how to tap into them. Being the parent of a D/HH child is work, but it is good work, necessary work, and something that all parents can do successfully with guidance and support. By breaking down these various skills and qualities, parents will gain confidence in knowing that they are the perfect parent for their child.

  • Parents will learn that they are capable.
  • Parents will learn that they have the skills needed to parent a deaf child
  • Parents will learn that they have resources to help them
