Why Reinvent the Wheel? Open Discussion for Cross-State Collaboration for Early Intervention Coordinators and Providers

Early Intervention (EI) Programs are servicing families with Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) children nationwide. These programs are part of a variety of systems that impact the quality of services rendered to families. EI Coordinators and staff have a duty to ensure comprehensive services to families and children who are DHH. State by state we develop processes, protocols, and gather resources that we think support families and ensure children are meeting developmental and language milestones. What does your state have that could be shared with a networking group? What is your state seeking that another state may have developed or be working on? How can we nationally unify to be more efficient in our efforts to develop quality EI programming? The presenters portion will be brief to allow ample time for open discussion and planning among participants.

  • Participants will develop a shared knowledge of networking opportunities in early intervention for D/HH coordinators and providers.
  • Participants will learn the benefits of cross-state shared resources and collaborations with other D/HH EI organizations/ agencies.
  • Participants will engage in open discussion leading to three to five step work plans for enhancing cross-state collaborations for each participant.
