Using QI to Increase Parent Participation in Events

Join us for a panel discussion about how five Hands & Voices Chapter Leaders used small tests of change (Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSAs)) to improve family engagement, participation and retention in chapter events; attracting families of diverse backgrounds and enhancing their data collection using a web-based database (Zoho). The presentation will briefly highlight The Model for Improvement/PDSA methodology and then each leader will discuss how their use of the methodology helped them to achieve their goals and share their learning about how to engage families and keep them coming back, the use of data in understanding their processes, successes and opportunities to make changes.

  • Identify steps to conduct small tests of change
  • Take away at least 2 ideas to increase participation, attracting diverse families and/or enhancing data gathering
  • Increased awareness of how to engage and retain parents after inital contact.
